Cypress boy killed in wreck in Florida
A 13-year-old boy was killed and three other people injured when their vehicle overturned on I-10 less than a mile east of the Sneads exit on Saturday afternoon.
The Florida Highway Patrol said all four people in the 2001 GMC Yukon were from Cypress, Texas, but did not release the names.
The driver, a 15-year-old boy, was seriously injured and two 45-year-olds, a man and a woman, were critically injured. All three were taken to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. The boy who was killed was taken to Jackson Hospital in Marianna where he was pronounced dead.
The accident report said the vehicle was traveling westbound on I-10 in the left lane about 1:45 p.m. when it drifted onto the grass shoulder of the median. The vehicle was steered back to the right but overcorrected, causing the vehicle to go out of control and overturn several times. Three of the occupants were ejected from the vehicle.
No charges have been filed but the investigation is ongoing, the report said.
